Mr. Goodyear's Neighborhood - Charles Horton

John Wojciechowski with Standard Examiner Publisher, Charles Horton

The Standard Examiner newspaper has kept the pulse and connected our community for 127 years.  Serving Davis, Weber, Morgan, Box Elder and Cache Counties, the Standard Examiner is the 3rd largest daily newspaper in the State of Utah with 63,000 subscribers.  Two years ago, Charles Horton came to Ogden to take the reins at The Standard and is determined to keep the paper focused on community engagement and quality reporting.

Despite newspapers becoming more popular, and the demand for news at an all-time high, the profitability of newspapers nationwide are at all-time lows.  However, this is not the case at The Standard Examiner where the paper continues to prosper and grow under Horton’s leadership.

How does Charles Horton keep The Standard Examiner relevant in a digital world where consumers want their news for free?  Listen in as we sit down with the publisher and CEO of The Standard Examiner where he answers those questions and more in this episode of Mr. Goodyear’s Neighborhood.
