Ken & Janae Richardson - UtahRunning.com
Ogden is a petri dish of young and industrious entrepreneurs who are doing great things for our community. Take Ken & Janae Richardson, for example, who started UtahRunning.com in 2008 as a local race calendar but has since evolved their website into a full-service runners resource. Utah Running is not only the most comprehensive race calendar in Utah, but they also offer free training tips, injury prevention tips, nutrition guidelines and link runners to local clubs and training groups. You can 'ask an expert' a specific question about running on the website and subscribe to their free quarterly Utah Running magazine with just a couple of clicks. Even if you don't own a computer, you can visit any one of the several Utah specialty running shops and pick up your free copy of the Utah Race Guide.
Ken and Janae have also partnered with the McKay-Dee Hospital Heart Services Foundation and produce 'The Classic' 10K & 5K in Layton. Proceeds from The Classic benefits the Heart Foundation at McKay Dee. The Classic is happening thisSaturday, September 12th at Layton Commons Park! Registration is still open. Brandon, Todd and I had a great time visiting with Ken and Janae in the Tan Van at the Overlook Trailhead at Snowbasin recently. We covered everything from Utah Running to The Classic to the Olympic Marathon trials, which both Ken and Janae are both trying to qualify for at the Chicago Marathon this Fall. Good luck Ken & Janae and keep up all the good work!

Ahhh, it's that time of year again, Summer OR, the greatest party in the outdoor industry. It's a fast and frazzling 4 days of wicked awesome gear, friends, and beer. All the beer. And, yes, sometimes whiskey. But, mostly beer.
